Metaflake - The Next Chapter is Opening

On the 22nd October 2025, Tracy and Jonny completed the transfer of ownership of Metaflake Limited to an Employee Ownership Trust.

Metaflake was originally founded on 9th May 1996 by Tracy and Jonny Knox. A few years later they were joined by Jake Grieve and together the three of them have successfully steered and developed the company to become an established supplier on the Global aluminium pigments market selling our unique water milled pigments to markets around the world.

Jake took the decision to retire and step back from the business in November 2023 and now the time has come for a next chapter in the Metaflake story to be opened.

This Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) will oversee the future development of Metaflake Limited for the benefit of current and future employees of Metaflake Limited. This move brings security and direction for our partners and for the company to continue from its base in Anstruther as well as to encourage the further development of the business.

For you our valued partner, the important details are:

·        Metaflake Limited will continue as your partner and supplier
·        Jonny Knox will continue as an employee of Metaflake Limited in the role of Research Director on a part-time basis continuing to drive our innovation and new product
development
·        Tracy will step away from the business passing over her shareholding to the EOT having already retired from day-to-day business ~2 years ago
·        An Operational Team will be established at Metaflake Limited to oversee the decision making, running and continued development of Metaflake Limited
